Troop 446 maintains an active schedule conducting campouts and other outdoor activities at least one a month, weekly troop/patrol meetings and numerous other fun-filled activities and events are held throughout the year as well.  Here are some of the events that have been held recently.

 

 

VISITING THE BEIRUT MEMORIAL (NOV 2008)

 

Scouts working on their Citizenship in the Nation merit badge had an opportunity to visit Camp Lejeune's Main Headquarters and the Beirut Memorial on Veterans Day.

HOLDING VESPERS AFTER COURT OF HONOR (OCT 2008)

 

The Troop holds a Court of Honor each quarter giving scouts, scouters and their families an opportunity to recognize accomplishments and share in some good cheer.

 

 

FAMILY DAY AT EMERALD ISLE (OCT 2008) 
 
Scouts had an opportunity to work the dunking booth at the annual Family Day event held in Emerald Isle.

EAGLE COURT OF HONOR (OCT 2008)

 

Scoutmaster Brian Alexander makes a presentation to the Troops newest Eagle Scout on October 4th 2008 in a special Eagle Court of Honor held at the Emerald Isle Recreational Center.

 
 

CAMP BONNER SUMMER CAMP (JUL 2008)

 

With 19 scouts and 5 scouters, the Troop set off for Camp Bonner for Summer Camp 2008.  Highlights of the Camp included 8 scouts completing the Wiccacan First Year Scout Program and several others completing exciting programs such as Coastal Ventures and BSA Scuba.  Check out some Camp Pictures.

CLIFFS OF THE NEUSE STATE PARK (JUN 2008)

 

It was a great weekend for camping out.  The scouts completed a 5 mile hike on Saturday morning and then enjoyed an afternoon of swimming. Evening skills focused on proper building and managing camp fires.  Early Sunday morning the rains came to cool things off; but what a great experience for all.

 

DAY CAMPOREE-CAMP SAM HATCHER (MAY 2008)

On a beautiful Saturday in May, 7 new scouts from Troop 446 along with 30 other local scouts had the chance to work on many of their Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class requirements.  The local Coree Arrowmen ran the Day Camporee and even provided a free lunch.  The new scouts worked on everything from Firem'n and Totim Chip, Knots & Lashing, Flag & Civic, Fitness & Safety, Orienteering, First Aid and Service Projects. 

 

COURT OF HONOR (APR 2008) 

 

Formal ceremonies like Courts of Honor are great motivators for our scouts and serve as means to recognize the many acheivements that they have realized over the past few months.

 

WEBELOS CROSSOVER CEREMONY (MAR 2008)

 

On the evening of March 1st, 2008 a Webelos Crossover Ceremony was held at Camp Sam Hatcher, NC.  During the ceremony (13) Webelos received their prestigious Arrow of Light Awards prior to crossing over from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
